Why I’m Promoting the Mindful Parenting eBundle

You’ve probably noticed that I’ve been mentioning the Mindful Parenting eBundle sale around here and on facebook the past few days. I’ve never promoted a bundle sale here before, or promoted anything through affiliate links at all. In fact, the only other thing I promote here that I get paid for is my own book. Why am I promoting this eBundle now?

1. I want to share quality, attachment-friendly parenting resources.

I started The Parent Vortex while I was the Parenting Resources Feature Writer at an online magazine called Suite101. I loved writing about the parenting resources, books and websites I was reading, and wanted to spread the word about the really good ones because there are so many questionable sources of advice for parents out there. I don’t write for Suite101 anymore and I write less about parenting resources in general today but I still think that having access to good quality information, advice and support is so important for parents.

2. This bundle is a really great deal.

If you were to go out and buy each of these eBooks, recordings and resources the total cost would be over $270. Even if you were to only buy three or four individually you’d be spending more than the cost of the whole bundle. Bundle sales are a great way to sample a lot of resources and discover writers that you might not have otherwise read. The $24.95 bundle price works out to only $1.30 per resource. That’s cheap!

3. I really admire and respect the people who are contributing their work to this bundle.

I’ve worked with and regularly read the blogs of several of the women organizing and participating in this bundle sale, including Lauren Wayne (Hobo Mama), Lucy Pearce (Dreaming Aloud), Jamie C. Martin (Steady Mom) and Renee Tougas (FIMBY). And the Attachment Parenting International teleseminar that was just added to the bundle features a panel discussion among experts such as Dr. William Sears, Martha Sears and Ina May Gaskin. I’m looking forward to discovering even more amazing bloggers, writers and passionate people who have contributed to this bundle.

4. It’s a great way for me to gain exposure for The Parenting Primer.

I’ve been talking about and linking to my book here on my own blog, but by joining forces with other blogging mamas and selling it in a bundle with their work too, my book will reach the hands of more people. I can’t sell books or share my blog with people who’ve never heard of it, so participating in this bundle sale is a good way to build my community here and nudge my book further out into the world.

5. Selling bundles helps support the work I do here.

I love writing and blogging but it sure isn’t paying the bills. Not yet, anyway. I’ve chosen not to place ads, sponsored posts or other money-making paraphernalia on my blog because I don’t want to advertise for things I don’t agree with. Your time and attention is valuable, and I don’t want to waste it. But because of reasons 1-3 above, I’ve decided to shout out about this eBundle sale a little bit here. If you do choose to buy a bundle, you’ll be directly supporting my work as a writer and blogger, for which I am totally grateful.

The Mindful Parenting eBundle sale is only going on until June 10th, so you have just over a week to think about it before the sale closes. Click here to visit Mindful Nurturing.
