Playful Self-Discipline: Priorities

It’s Thursday and time to check in on my Playful Self-Discipline project! March’s theme is organization, and I’m happy to report that making my bed has been a successful change so far, and I’ve managed to pull the duvet up over the pillows every day of March so far. This week, I’m thinking about my priorities.

In fact, my priority this week is visiting with my parents, who are visiting from out of town. I can blog anytime, but I can only visit with my parents at this time in my life for another short while before they get on a plane and go back to their own city. Just like my daughters are constantly growing and changing and impermanent, so is everyone else in my life. So tonight I’m making my in-person relationships a priority and organizing my time and energy accordingly.

What are you making a priority today?

Next week – Playfully tackling spring cleaning!

Drinking water was my priority today, as basic as that sounds. Balancing home and toddler and unpacking I have been not drinking as much as I should be. Plus sick kid = lots of extra nursing, so I’ve been needing more than ever!

I totally hear you! The most basic priorities are often the most important ones – food, water, rest, activity. I hope M is feeling better soon!

My priority this weekend: prepare manuscript for Tuesday deadline.

My long-term priority: find better ways to balance my paid work with everything else so that there are no more (or fewer, anyway) last-minute scrambles.
